EJS Equine Education 

'I aim to be able to help people have the relationship with their horses that they dream of.' 

Because of this, education is important, it spreads valuable information about welfare and aids people to reach their own personal goals with their horses and donkeys making it much more enjoyable to own these incredible creatures.

Courses

Hi everyone, it has been a long time coming for these courses and our aim is for them to take off this Autumn! So, the plan is to start getting people on waiting lists and get dates in that will work for everyone. This is where you come in. For those who have tried to get friends together, organize an event or put together a course, finding at date and right times is the hardest part. So through this small questionnaire we are going to find days and times that work. 

Please have a look at the courses below and if this is something you are interested in, please fill out the questionnaire.

Course Information:

These courses will be held at Valley Farm Equestrian Leisure, IP13 0ND.

Hire of classroom, indoor/outdoor school and horses.

Tea, Coffee and biscuits provided.

Cafe on site for lunch or bring your own. 

Course notes to take home with you.

Long Reining.png

Groundwork 101​

Course aims:

  • Have an understanding of basic anatomy.

  • Know why we do groundwork with our horses.

  • Build skills in creating exercises for your horse.

Classroom Base 

  • Introduction to groundwork.

  • Basic anatomy to help understand how a horse moves. 

  • Equipment, pros and cons, and when to  use them.

Hands On Practice

  • Draw muscles on horses

  • Core exercises

  • Ground movement exercises 

  • Pole work

Long Reining

Course aims:

  • Have an understanding on how long reining can be used for different reasons.

  • How you can use it for rehabilitation and strengthening.

  • Learn how to teach your horse how to long rein and do it safely.

Classroom Base 

  • Introduction to long reining and where it is used mostly in the equine industry.

  • How we can use long reins with our own horses.

  • Human to human practice (out side).

Hands On Practice

  • Introducing long reining to a horse.

  • Practice steering and use of long reining

  • Fun course to practice skills that have been learnt.

Equine Massage for Owners

Course aims:

  • Learn about the basic anatomy structures of the equine body.

  • Have an understanding on how massage can affect your horse.

  • How to spot the signs a horse may need physiotherapy.

  • Learn basic massage to use on your own horse. 

Classroom Base 

  • Principles of massage

  • Basic anatomy structures

  • Importance of posture 

  • Introduction of massage techniques

Hands On Practice

  • Massage techniques demonstrated

  • Massage techniques practice

Talks and Demonstrations

EJS Vet Physio provides talks for clubs, organisations and colleges on subjects to do with equine behaviour and physiotherapy. 

Study Materials

EJS Equine Education are working hard to bring study material to help people achieve their goals. Whilst Emma studied Veterinary Physiotherapy she had to make many of the revision materials she found helpful and decided to create them again for others to use.
